History
The EJO Center for Excellence in Children’s Services is a separate 501(c)(3) and a member of the Boysville of Michigan, Inc. family of services. Boysville of Michigan, Inc., now through Holy Cross Children's Services, has over a sixty (60) year history of service to vulnerable children and families involved in Michigan’s juvenile justice, abuse/neglect and mental health systems. The precursor to the EJO Center was the Boysville Center for Policy and Practice Development which was begun in 1982, and was comprised of ten social scientists from across the country. This group initially advised on Boysville’s computerized client information system and later acted as an advisory group on a host of client information, program evaluation, program development and children’s advocacy issues. The Boysville Center published a lengthy list of professional articles; contributed to national forums and conferences; and contributed to and sponsored statewide conferences and forums.
